Natasha Poly, also known by her real name Natasha Polevshchikova, is a famous supermodel and runway star. Her graceful walk is considered one of the best in the fashion world. But she wasn't always a glamorous figure. Once, she was just an ordinary girl from a modest family. Our colleagues from 59.RU have compiled her story in one video.
Natasha was born on July 12, 1985, in Perm, Russia. At the age of 15, she saw an advertisement in a newspaper for the New Model Today beauty contest in Moscow. She took the risk and participated, eventually securing the second place. The Milan-based agency Why Not, which organized the contest, offered her a modeling opportunity.
By the age of 16, Natasha was already posing for top fashion magazines and participating in advertising campaigns for renowned brands. She traveled to cities like Moscow, Milan, and New York for work. Despite her sudden rise to fame and international travels, she continued to attend a regular school in Perm and returned to take exams.
When she turned 18, Natasha signed a contract with the Milan branch of the prestigious New York agency Women Management. She made her runway debut in September 2003 at the Emanuel Ungaro show during Paris Fashion Week. In the following seasons, she walked in 50 fashion shows across Paris, Milan, and New York. Since then, she has been hailed as the "queen of the runway," with agency directors praising her hard work and professionalism.
In 2011, at the age of 26, Natasha Poly married Dutch businessman Peter Bakker. The couple has two children: 11-year-old daughter Alexandra Christine Bakker and five-year-old son Adrian Grey Bakker. Natasha frequently visits her hometown of Perm, where her parents and brother's family reside. Her family also often visits her and travels with her.
