Over the past few years, Turkey has become a rising star in the yachting industry, quietly climbing up the league tables. In 2022, Turkey ranked fourth in the superyacht build league, but in 2024, it has overtaken the Netherlands, now sitting in second place only behind Italy. Turkey's shipbuilding industry boasts over 600 years of history and offers world-quality construction.
Turkish yacht yards have attracted internationally famous builders, with domestic brands such as Numarine and Turquoise becoming familiar names in the boating world. These yards are also refitting yachts from well-known brands like Benetti, Heesen, and Ferretti. The Marmara coast near Istanbul's Sabiha Gökçen Airport and the Antalya Free Trade Zone have become major centers of boat- and shipbuilding in Turkey.
Turkey's yacht yards have a highly trained skilled workforce and an affordable cost structure, giving them a competitive advantage in the industry. In the past 20 years, Turkey has expanded from a commercial-vessel-making industry to the leisure marine sector, with prominent names like Sirena Yachts, Numarine, and Magnolia Yachts.
Turkey's well-known yacht yards include Turquoise Yachts and Aegean Yachts. Turquoise Yachts has delivered 20 fully-custom yachts between 40m and 77m, known for their style, elegance, and engineering quality. Turquoise Yachts also offers repair, maintenance, and refit services for vessels up to 120m. Aegean Yachts, established in 1976, builds fully-custom yachts at their yards in Bodrum and Antalya.
