The State Museum of Fine Arts named after A.S. Pushkin is preparing exhibitions dedicated to the Victory Anniversary and the legacy of Russian collectors, including the "Baratinsky Museum. European Art of the 17th-19th Centuries". The director of the museum, Elizaveta Likhacheva, made this statement at a press conference.

The State Museum of Fine Arts named after A.S. Pushkin is planning exhibitions for 2025 to commemorate the Victory Anniversary and showcase the legacy of Russian collectors. The highlight of the exhibitions will be the "Baratinsky Museum. European Art of the 17th-19th Centuries", which will become the exhibition of the year.

According to Elizaveta Likhacheva, the director of the museum, the exhibition dedicated to the Baratinsky collection will include several important pieces that have been restored from the collections in Kursk. These pieces were originally part of the Baratinsky collection and remained in Kursk, where the main estate of the Baratinsky family was located.

The art collection of the Baratinsky family will be exhibited in the fall and will feature works by European painters from the 17th to the 19th centuries, including Albrecht Durer, Caspar David Friedrich, and Luca Giordano.

In addition to the Baratinsky exhibition, the museum will also host the exhibition "To Return to the Future. The History of Masterpieces Lost and Preserved in World War II", which will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory. This exhibition will showcase the artworks that were saved after the explosion of the Friedrichshain bunker and restored by the staff of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A.S. Pushkin. It will include the only Donatello sculpture in Russia.

Another exhibition, "French Drawing of the 19th Century. Engraving, Delacroix, and Others", will be held at the Gallery of Art of European and American Countries in the first half of the year.

Likhacheva emphasized the importance of projects related to Crimea and the territories of the new Russian subjects. In 2025, the museum plans to open an exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Bosporus expedition of the Pushkin Museum. Since June 1945, this expedition has been working in Kerch and its surroundings.

Likhacheva also highlighted the museum's educational activities in the new Russian subjects. This includes the opening of children's centers at museums and the organization of internship programs for their staff.

The exhibition "Ancient Egypt. The Art of Immortality" will continue to be shown in different regions. It has already been presented in Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, and Nizhny Novgorod, and in 2025, it will be available to residents of Ryazan and Salekhard.

In 2024, the museum underwent a phased renewal of its permanent exhibition of old masters' art. In September of the same year, the museum underwent rebranding and introduced a new logo and corporate style. The State Museum of Fine Arts named after A.S. Pushkin is a museum complex that houses one of the largest collections of foreign art in Russia. Today, its collection includes about 700,000 works from different epochs, from Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece to the beginning of the 21st century. One of the museum's exceptional collections is the collection of French art from the 19th and 20th centuries, which is renowned worldwide.
