Located in Taiwan, the Meiping residence is a stunning example of the seamless integration of modern aesthetics and subtle nods to traditional Chinese culture. The design of this residence takes inspiration from the homeowner's collection of exquisite Ming Dynasty plum vases, known as Meiping. Essence, the design firm behind this project, has crafted a haven of tranquility that revolves around the graceful form of the vases and the serenity evoked by a peaceful afternoon sipping tea.
The entire space is defined by soft, curved lines that echo the silhouette of the Meiping vase. In the living room, accents of pink jade reminiscent of the vase's coral decorations exude a sense of timeless elegance. An arced stone slab adorns the TV wall, blending Eastern color palettes with Western geometric principles and adding a touch of modernity to the ambiance.
The dining area features a unique rounded ceiling that symbolizes the family's strong bond. Soft light bathes the large circular dining table, fostering a sense of warmth and togetherness. The subdued color palette and natural materials create a calming atmosphere infused with hints of Chinese cultural mystique.
