Sewing factories of clothing manufacturer Gloria Jeans (GJ) are closing in two cities of the Rostov region - Shakhty and Novoshakhtinsk. Notices of dismissal have already been sent to the employees. The founder and chairman of the board of directors of Gloria Jeans, Vladimir Melnikov, confirmed the information about the closure of the factories. In a conversation, he stated that the enterprises were unprofitable.
According to the State Duma deputy Ekaterina Stenyakina, the company may close factories in two more cities of the Rostov region. She wrote a letter to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, stating that it is necessary to prevent production from moving to Asian factories.
