Coryn Monét, a native of Houston, Texas, showcased her talent at the Bomb Fashion show after returning from living in France. Having just moved back to the States, Monét took a break and sought inspiration for her rebranding.
This rebranding comes almost ten years after Monét's college graduation and her self-taught journey in sewing, which she learned through online tutorials and resources. Despite facing numerous challenges, Monét never let them discourage her. Instead, she embraced every obstacle as an opportunity for growth.
As Monét started sharing her brand on social media, word spread about her sewing skills, and demand for her designs grew. The requests ranged from swimwear to jackets, prom dresses to wedding gowns.
Aside from custom designing, Monét expanded her brand to include Ready-To-Wear collections, cosmetics, and menswear. She aimed to create an all-inclusive brand, recognizing the importance of providing high-quality fashion for plus-size individuals.
Inspired by her time in Europe, Monét shifted her design aesthetic towards neutrals, moving away from vibrant colors and prints. This transition was evident in her collection showcased during New York Fashion Week.
This was Monét's first time participating in New York Fashion Week, and she expressed her gratitude for the opportunity. She recognized the significance of being featured by Fashion Bomb Daily, a renowned fashion blog.
Coryn Monét's journey from humble beginnings to success is a testament to her determination and resourcefulness. With a plethora of resources at her fingertips, she continues to create her own opportunities and captivate audiences with her cutting-edge designs.
