At the "Khudozhestvenny" theater last week, the premiere of the Cannes Film Festival winner "Anora" took place, starring Mark Eidelstein and Yura Borisov, while "Oktyabr" showed the biopic "Hands Up!". The art intelligentsia studied the works of Rudi Molachek at his exhibition at the Sistema Gallery, while representatives of the fashion industry focused on the shows and afterparties of the third Moscow Fashion Week.
The first event in the world of cinema last week was the premiere of the film "Hands Up!" which took place at the "Oktyabr" cinema on Monday, October 7th. This musical blockbuster, dedicated to the history of a cult group, featured the founders of the group, Sergey Zhukov and Alexey Potekhin, who participated in the filming and appeared on stage before the screening. However, there seems to be no talk of a reunion in the music industry today. When asked if he has any thoughts about doing a joint concert with his former colleague, Potekhin joked, "He will say again, 'Leha, you stole all the girls!'"
The film stars young actors Vlad Prokhorov and Ilya Rus, while Sergey Zhukov's son Angel portrayed his father in his childhood. On Wednesday, October 10th, the baton was passed to the "Khudozhestvenny" theater, where one of the most anticipated film premieres took place - "Anora", the winner of the Cannes Film Festival and a prize winner at the Toronto festival. The film was directed by American director Sean Baker, and the main roles were played by Russian actors Mark Eidelstein, Yura Borisov, Daria Ekamasova, and Alexey Serebryakov.
Notable guests at the premiere included directors Klim Shipenko and Sarik Andreasyan with his wife Lisa Moryak, as well as actors Grigory Vernik, Alena Mikhailova, and Victoria Tolstoganova. The plot of the film revolves around a young stripper named Eni, who unexpectedly marries the son of a Russian oligarch, much to the dismay of his parents.
On the same evening, art lovers flocked to the Sistema Gallery for the opening of an exhibition of paintings by Austrian artist Rudi Molachek titled "Energy of Color". Initially a photographer who worked for Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine, Molachek began his journey in painting in 1984. His vibrant large-scale abstractions, where color takes center stage, will be on display to the public until the end of November.
The exhibition opening was attended by prominent figures in the Moscow social scene, including Alexander Anatolyevich, Konstantin Andrikopulos, Dmitry Iskhakov, and others. The guests were treated to a visual feast of Molachek's colorful artworks.
Moscow Fashion Week took place from October 4th to 9th, featuring 83 shows, including those by international brands. Many designers focused on their cultural codes and national characteristics. For example, Chinese brand KenSun successfully combined modern style with the traditional silhouette of a costume, featuring distinctive collars, jackets, and dresses with a peplum reminiscent of a kimono. Designer Irina Vorobyeva imagined what the Russian traditional costume would look like today, incorporating sarafans and kokoshnik headbands.
Notable guests at the fashion shows included actress Elizaveta Bazikina, who opened the BITTE_RUHE show and also walked the runway for the Bákhtin brand. Fashion expert Vladislav Lisovets also participated as a model for Bákhtin. Another surprise for the audience was the presence of singer Lolita, who graced the runway wearing a luxurious fur coat at Igor Gulyaev's show.
The fashion shows were also attended by stars such as TV presenter Ida Galich, designer and stylist Oleg Gorchannin, and stylist Kitty. The afterparties of Fashion Rebels were attended by TV presenter Snezhina Kulova, actresses Ekaterina Kovalchuk, Alexandra Kiseleva, Ksenia Surkova, and many others. The guests received t-shirts with prints inspired by the collection of the brand "Manon 70" as a souvenir.
