The Resort 2025 collection by Carven represents a significant shift for the French fashion house. This is the first collection created without the direct involvement of Louise Trotter, who served as creative director from September 2023 until her departure in December to join Bottega Veneta. Despite her exit, the design team stayed true to her vision of "structured femininity," exploring themes of lightness while maintaining form and structure.
The collection features a harmonious blend of tailored pieces and fluid designs. Coats are meticulously fastened with pins, while white shirts peek out from underneath, adding a touch of effortless elegance. Wide-leg trousers are paired with blousons featuring sloping shoulders, creating a balanced silhouette. The color palette leans towards soft, milky tones, complemented by crisp white ensembles.
Standout pieces include a black dress delicately adorned with a string of pearls along the back, silk tops layered over blousons, and wide trousers embellished with fringe. Accessories also play a key role, with fringe-detailed clutches, roomy satin bags in chocolate tones, and mules styled with fine wool socks.
The Resort 2025 collection marks a new chapter for Carven, blending tradition with innovation. It reflects the brand's ability to evolve while staying true to its core aesthetic, even in the absence of its former creative director.
